- 2–3 tablespoons Milk (non-dairy milk substitute works well)
- 2 tablespoons Maple Syrup (honey or agave syrup are good alternates)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together ½ cup of butter and 1 cup of brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add 1 egg and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract; beat until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together 1.5 cups of flour, 1 cup of oats, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, ½ teaspoon of baking soda, ¼ teaspoon of cloves, and ½ teaspoon of salt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture.
- Toss 1 cup of chopped apples with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, then fold into the cookie dough.
- Drop portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheets and lightly flatten each mound.
- Bake for 12 to 14 minutes until edges are lightly golden; cool for 5 to 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
- Whisk together 1 cup of powdered sugar, 2-3 tablespoons of milk, and 2 tablespoons of maple syrup until smooth for the glaze.
- Drizzle the glaze over cooled cookies and allow to set before serving.
Notes
