Description

Irresistible Baked Apple Donuts for Cozy Fall Mornings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour (Can substitute with 1:1 gluten-free flour.)
  • 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar (Can reduce for a lighter treat.)
  • 1 tbsp Baking Powder (Ensure it’s fresh.)
  • 1/2 tsp Salt (Enhances flavor.)
  • 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon (Adjust to spice preference.)
  • 1 tsp Apple Pie Spice (Or make your own blend.)
  • 1 cup Unsweetened Applesauce (Can swap with homemade applesauce or mashed bananas.)
  • 1/2 cup Good Olive Oil (Melted coconut oil is a good alternative.)
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract (Use pure for best flavor.)
  • 1/4 cup Melted Butter (Substitute with vegan butter for dairy-free.)
  • 1/2 cup Cinnamon Sugar Mixture (Combine sugar and cinnamon.)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a donut pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, ground cinnamon, and apple pie spice.
  3. In a separate bowl, stir together the unsweetened applesauce, good olive oil, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  4. Gently fold the wet ingredients into the dry mixture.
  5. Fill each cavity of the donut pan with the batter about ¾ full.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the donuts are golden brown.
  7. Let the donuts cool for about 5 minutes, then dip in melted butter and roll in cinnamon sugar.
  8. Allow the donuts to cool slightly on a wire rack before serving.
