Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ziti pasta
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 32 oz marinara sauce
  • 14.5 oz crushed tomatoes
  • 16 oz mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the ziti pasta until al dente.
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion.
  3. Add minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Pour in marinara sauce and crushed tomatoes, then simmer.
  4. Stir the cooked ziti into the sauce.
  5. Spread half of the pasta and sauce mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish. Dollop with ricotta cheese and sprinkle with half of the mozzarella and Parmesan.
  6. Add the remaining pasta and sauce, then top with the rest of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  7. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes.
