Ingredients

  • 8 ounces pasta (fettuccine or penne)
  • 1 pound chicken breast
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 medium onion (yellow or white)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add chicken breast seasoned with salt and pepper and cook for about 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add 2 tablespoons of butter, minced garlic, and chopped onion. Sauté until onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Lower the heat, add heavy cream and chicken broth, whisking to combine. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  4. Cook pasta according to package instructions in a separate pot until al dente. Drain and add to the creamy sauce.
  5. Incorporate the chicken back into the sauce along with Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning. Mix well and let simmer for a few more minutes.
  6. Sprinkle in red pepper flakes, stir, and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
