Description

A refreshing and easy Cucumber Dill Salad, perfect for any occasion. This classic recipe is ready in minutes and bursting with fresh flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cucumbers, peeled and thinly sliced (approximately 500g/2 cups)
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt (120g)
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh dill (15g)
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (30ml)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (15ml)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (1.5g)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (0.5g)
  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced (optional) (50g)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the sliced cucumbers, yogurt, chopped fresh dill, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  2. If using, add the thinly sliced red onion to the bowl.
  3. Gently toss all ingredients together until well combined.
  4. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. Before serving, give the salad another gentle toss. Serve chilled and enjoy!

Notes

  • For an even more intense flavor, prepare the salad a few hours ahead of time and let it chill in the refrigerator.
  • Substitute the plain yogurt with sour cream for a richer flavor.
  • Avoid over-mixing to prevent the cucumbers from becoming watery.
  • For best results, use fresh dill.
