- 1 cup Diced Onions (Replace with green onions if desired)
- 1 cup Frozen Peas and Carrots (Substitute with fresh vegetables if preferred)
- 4 cups Cold, Cooked Rice (Day-old jasmine or basmati works best)
- 3–4 tablespoons Soy Sauce (Use low-sodium if necessary)
- 2 large Eggs (Omit for vegan version)
- Green Onions or Sesame Seeds (Optional garnishes)
- Protein Add-ins (Chicken, Shrimp, Tofu) (Customize with your choice of protein)
- Spices (Chili Sauce, Red Pepper Flakes) (Add for a spicy kick)
Instructions
- Sauté the Aromatics: Melt butter in a large skillet; add onions and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
- Add the Vegetables: Stir in peas and carrots, cooking for 3-5 minutes until heated through.
- Incorporate the Rice: Add cold, cooked rice and soy sauce; cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring until heated and lightly browned.
- Scramble the Eggs: Create space in the skillet, add eggs, scramble for 2-3 minutes, then mix into rice.
- Final Touches and Serve: Garnish with green onions or sesame seeds if desired and serve hot.
