Description

These Irresistible Cheesy Parmesan Mozzarella Bites are savory, bite-sized delights perfect for any gathering. They are quick to make, packed with flavor, and always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon (4g) baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3g) salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1g) black pepper
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) milk
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) vegetable oil
  • 1 cup (113g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup (15g) chopped fresh parsley
  • Optional: garlic powder to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a mini muffin tin.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the milk and vegetable oil.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Gently fold in the mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, and parsley. Add garlic powder if desired.
  6. Spoon the mixture into the prepared mini muffin tin, filling each cup about 2/3 full.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the bites cool in the muffin tin for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For best results, use freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
  • You can use gluten-free flour as a substitute for all-purpose flour.
  • Consider toasting spices lightly before adding for deeper flavor.
  • Avoid overmixing the batter to prevent tough bites.
  • Use room temperature ingredients for easier combining.
  • Do not overfill the muffin tin to prevent overflow.
  • Monitor baking time as ovens vary.
  • Cool bites slightly in the tin before transferring to a wire rack to prevent sticking.
  • For a spicier bite, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
  • Experiment with other herbs like thyme, rosemary, or basil.
  • Try different cheeses like cheddar, Gruyere, or provolone.
  • Store cooled bites in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 5-10 minutes.
  • Freeze cooled bites in a single layer, then transfer to a freezer-safe bag for up to 2 months. Reheat from frozen.
