Description
A quick and easy Korean Ground Beef Bowl recipe, featuring tender ground beef simmered in a savory-sweet sauce, served over fluffy rice.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 cups cooked rice (white or brown)
- Sliced green onions (for topping)
- Sesame seeds (for topping)
- Sriracha sauce (for topping)
- Kimchi (for topping)
- Fried egg (for topping)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Break it up with a spoon as it cooks. Once the beef is fully browned, drain any excess grease.
- Add the soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet. Stir well to combine all the ingredients with the ground beef.
- Add the water to the skillet. Let the mixture simmer for about 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly and coats the beef nicely.
- While the beef is simmering, cook 2 cups of rice according to package directions. If you already have cooked rice, fluff it with a fork.
- Divide the cooked rice evenly between bowls. Top with the Korean ground beef mixture.
- Garnish with sliced green onions, sesame seeds, sriracha sauce, kimchi, and a fried egg, if desired.
- Serve your delicious Korean Ground Beef Bowl immediately and enjoy!
