Description

Crispy Lemon Chicken Romano is a delicious and comforting Italian dish featuring golden chicken and savory Romano cheese.


Ingredients

  • 2 pieces Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 cup Panko bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup Romano cheese
  • 1/2 cup Mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup Provolone cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh oregano
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup Olive oil
  • 1 lemon Lemon wedges
  • 1/4 cup Fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice chicken in half and pound to 1/2-inch thickness. Season with salt.
  2. In a shallow dish, whisk together egg and flour until smooth. In a second dish, mix panko, Romano, oregano, lemon zest, garlic powder, and pepper.
  3. Dredge each chicken cutlet in the egg mixture, then press into the panko mixture until fully coated.
  4. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry coated chicken for 4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. Place fried cutlets on a baking sheet, top with mozzarella and provolone cheese. Bake for 8-10 minutes until cheese is melted.
  6. Garnish with fresh oregano and parsley, and serve with lemon wedges.
