Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 2 1/2 cups chicken broth
- 2 tbsp chopped parsley
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the sliced sausage for about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter and sauté the minced garlic for 30-60 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the orzo to the pan, stirring to coat in the garlic butter, and toast for 2-3 minutes.
- Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- When the orzo is tender and the liquid is mostly absorbed, return the sausage to the pan and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until warm.
- Sprinkle with chopped parsley, season with salt and pepper to taste, and serve hot.
