Description

These S’more Bars bring the classic campfire flavors of graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows into an easy-to-make dessert. Perfect for any occasion, these gooey s’mores bars are a crowd-pleasing treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups (150g) graham cracker crumbs
  • 5 tablespoons (70g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1 (14 ounce) can (397g) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup (56g) unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) corn syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1.5g) salt
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 3 cups (510g) milk chocolate chips
  • 4 cups (225g) mini marshmallows

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal of the s’mores bars.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan to form the crust for your s’mores bars.
  3. Bake the crust for 8-10 minutes, or until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly while you prepare the filling for these delicious s’mores bars.
  4. While the crust is baking, prepare the chocolate filling. In a medium saucepan, combine the sweetened condensed milk, butter, corn syrup, and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the butter is melted and the mixture is smooth.
  5. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract and chocolate chips until melted and smooth. The rich chocolate filling should be glossy.
  6. Pour the chocolate mixture over the baked crust, spreading evenly. Sprinkle the mini marshmallows evenly over the chocolate layer of your s’mores dessert squares.
  7. Return the pan to the oven and bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the marshmallows are puffed and lightly golden brown. Watch carefully to prevent burning the marshmallow topping on your s’mores bars!
  8. Remove the pan from the oven and let the s’mores bars cool completely in the pan before cutting. Use the parchment paper overhang to lift the bars out of the pan. Cut into squares and serve these homemade s’mores bars!

Notes

  • Don’t Overbake: Overbaking the marshmallows can lead to a hard, unpleasant texture. Watch them closely.
  • Press the Crust Firmly: A well-compacted crust will prevent it from crumbling when you cut the s’mores bars.
  • Use Quality Chocolate: The better the chocolate, the richer and more flavorful the filling will be for your s’mores bar recipe.
  • Cool Completely: Allow the s’mores bars to cool completely before cutting for cleaner, neater slices.
  • Line the Pan: Parchment paper is essential for easy removal and cleanup of your s’mores treats.
