Description

A delightful fusion of a classic apple pie and a spiced snickerdoodle cookie, featuring a creamy, tangy cream cheese layer and a fragrant cinnamon-sugar crust.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon (5g) cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5g) baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1.25g) salt
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) cold water
  • 4 medium apples, peeled and sliced (about 4 cups or 600g)
  • 8 ounces (225g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup (50g) brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon (2g) ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon (1g) ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon (0.5g) ground cloves
  • 2 tablespoons (30g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon (2g) ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add cold water, mixing until dough forms. Press into a 9-inch pie dish.
  3. In a bowl, beat cream cheese, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Stir in cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Fold in apple slices until evenly coated.
  4. Spread the apple mixture evenly over the crust.
  5. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Sprinkle evenly over the pie.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes until crust is golden and filling is bubbly.
  7. Let cool before serving.
