- 1/4 cup (60ml) cold water
- 4 medium apples, peeled and sliced (about 4 cups or 600g)
- 8 ounces (225g) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup (50g) brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon (2g) ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon (1g) ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon (0.5g) ground cloves
- 2 tablespoons (30g) granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon (2g) ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add cold water, mixing until dough forms. Press into a 9-inch pie dish.
- In a bowl, beat cream cheese, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Stir in cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Fold in apple slices until evenly coated.
- Spread the apple mixture evenly over the crust.
- Mix sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Sprinkle evenly over the pie.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until crust is golden and filling is bubbly.
- Let cool before serving.
