Description

These Strawberry Cheesecake Cinnamon Rolls combine two desserts into a delightful treat, perfect for brunch or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Warm Milk (about 110°F)
  • 2 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast (check for freshness)
  • 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar (divided into 1/4 cup and 1/2 cup)
  • 3/4 cup Unsalted Butter (1/4 cup melted and 1/2 cup softened)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 4 cups All-Purpose Flour (consider gluten-free substitutes)
  • 2 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 cup Fresh Strawberries (diced)
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese (softened, vegan alternatives for dairy-free)
  • 1/4 cup Powdered Sugar (for filling)
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract (1 teaspoon for filling and 1 teaspoon for glaze)
  • 23 tablespoons Milk (for glaze)
  • 1/4 cup Optional: Strawberry Jam (for added flavor in glaze)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 1/4 cup of granulated sugar and 1 cup of warm milk. Sprinkle the active dry yeast on top and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add 1/4 cup of melted unsalted butter, a pinch of salt, and 2 large eggs to the yeast mixture. Gradually mix in 2 cups of all-purpose flour until well combined.
  3. Continue to add the remaining flour, kneading until it forms a smooth and elastic dough, about 5-7 minutes. Shape into a ball and place in a greased bowl.
  4. Cover and let rise in a warm area for about 1 hour, until doubled in size.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine 1/2 cup of softened unsalted butter, 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, and 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon. Mix until smooth.
  6. In another bowl, blend 8 oz of softened cream cheese with 1/4 cup of powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Beat until creamy.
  7. Roll the risen dough into a 16×12 rectangle on a floured surface.
  8. Spread the cinnamon butter mixture on the dough, then the cheesecake mixture, followed by diced strawberries.
  9. Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 pieces.
  10. Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  11. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown.
  12. Prepare the glaze by mixing 1 cup of powdered sugar with 2-3 tablespoons of milk and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle over warm rolls.
