Description
Air Fryer Imitation Crab Bites are a quick and savory snack or appetizer that’s crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup imitation crab meat, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- ⅓ cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped green onion
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- ½ teaspoon Old Bay seasoning or paprika
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Olive oil spray
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped imitation crab, egg, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, green onion, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined and the mixture holds together.
- Form small bite-sized balls or patties using your hands or a small scoop. Place them on a plate and chill in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes to help them firm up.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil spray. Arrange the crab bites in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd the basket.
- Spray the tops of the bites with a light coating of olive oil.
- Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
- Remove from the air fryer and serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce.
Notes
- Chilling the mixture helps it hold together better.
- Experiment with different seasonings to suit your taste.
