Description

Delicious Apple Bundt Cake Recipe for Fall Baking

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/2 cups (312.5g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon (4.5g) baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon (2.6g) ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon (1.2g) ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon (0.6g) ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3g) salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks, 226g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups (400g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon (4.2g) vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (240ml) buttermilk
  • 3 cups (360g) peeled and diced apples (such as Honeycrisp or Gala)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch Bundt pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the diced apples.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared Bundt pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. While the cake is cooling, prepare the glaze. In a medium bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  11. Once the cake is completely cool, drizzle the glaze over the top.
  12. Let the glaze set before slicing and serving.
