  • 1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (40g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup (4 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips or chocolate chunks (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×9-inch baking dish by lightly greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter in a large bowl, then add dark brown sugar and granulated sugar, whisking until the mixture is glossy.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract to the butter/sugar mix, whisk until combined.
  4. Fold in flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda, mixing gently until no dry ingredients remain.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
