- 1/2 cup (100g) dark brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs, at room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup (40g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup (4 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips or chocolate chunks (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×9-inch baking dish by lightly greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
- Melt the butter in a large bowl, then add dark brown sugar and granulated sugar, whisking until the mixture is glossy.
- Add eggs and vanilla extract to the butter/sugar mix, whisk until combined.
- Fold in flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda, mixing gently until no dry ingredients remain.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a skewer inserted comes out clean with a few moist crumbs.
- Let the brownies cool in the baking dish for 10 to 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
