Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups Cooked Shredded Chicken
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Green Onions
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 package Refrigerated Crescent Rolls
  • 4 tablespoons Melted Butter
  • 1 cup Italian-Seasoned Breadcrumbs
  • 4 tablespoons Butter (for sauce)
  • 1/4 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 cups Chicken Broth
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Salt (for seasoning)
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper (for seasoning)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking sheet.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, cream cheese, green onions, salt, and pepper until well-blended.
  3. Unroll the crescent rolls and separate them into triangles.
  4. Place a tablespoon of the filling at the wide end of each triangle and fold to create a pillow shape, sealing the edges.
  5. Dip each pillow in melted butter and then roll in breadcrumbs.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. In a saucepan, melt butter, whisk in flour to form a roux, then slowly add chicken broth and milk, cooking until thickened.
  8. Stir in Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  9. Serve the baked pillows drizzled with creamy sauce.

Notes

  • Rotisserie chicken works great for convenience.
  • Softened cream cheese mixes easily.
  • Gluten-free dough can be used for crescent rolls.
  • Plain breadcrumbs can be jazzed up with herbs.
  • Vegetable broth can be substituted for chicken broth.
  • Non-dairy milk is a perfect alternative.
  • Freshly grated Parmesan gives the best flavor.
