- 2 cups orzo pasta
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound chicken sausage (sliced)
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat, then add sliced chicken sausage and cook for 5–7 minutes until browned.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add broccoli florets and let them soften for 2–3 minutes.
- Stir in orzo pasta and pour in chicken broth. Sprinkle in Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. Cover and cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Once orzo is tender and most liquid is absorbed, remove from heat and stir in grated Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
