- 20 jumbo pasta shells
- Water for boiling
- Salt for pasta water
- 1 cup cooked shrimp, chopped
- 1 cup lump crab meat (or imitation crab)
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups milk
- ½ cup heavy cream
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the pasta shells: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add jumbo pasta shells and cook according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside to cool slightly.
- Make the seafood filling: In a mixing bowl, combine chopped shrimp, crab meat, ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Prepare the cream sauce: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Whisk in the flour and cook for another minute to form a roux.
- Add milk and cream: Slowly pour in milk and heavy cream, whisking constantly until smooth. Simmer until the sauce begins to thicken, then stir in Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Stuff the shells: Fill each cooked shell with the seafood filling. Arrange the stuffed shells in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Pour the sauce: Pour the cream sauce evenly over the stuffed shells, making sure they are well covered.
- Bake: Cover the dish with foil and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes, until heated through and bubbly.
- Serve: Garnish with additional parsley or Parmesan if desired and serve hot.
