Description

These Creamy Seafood Stuffed Shells are a luxurious twist on classic stuffed pasta, filled with a rich blend of seafood and creamy cheese, then baked in a smooth white sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 20 jumbo pasta shells
  • Water for boiling
  • Salt for pasta water
  • 1 cup cooked shrimp, chopped
  • 1 cup lump crab meat (or imitation crab)
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups milk
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta shells: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add jumbo pasta shells and cook according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside to cool slightly.
  2. Make the seafood filling: In a mixing bowl, combine chopped shrimp, crab meat, ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Prepare the cream sauce: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Whisk in the flour and cook for another minute to form a roux.
  4. Add milk and cream: Slowly pour in milk and heavy cream, whisking constantly until smooth. Simmer until the sauce begins to thicken, then stir in Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Stuff the shells: Fill each cooked shell with the seafood filling. Arrange the stuffed shells in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  6. Pour the sauce: Pour the cream sauce evenly over the stuffed shells, making sure they are well covered.
  7. Bake: Cover the dish with foil and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes, until heated through and bubbly.
  8. Serve: Garnish with additional parsley or Parmesan if desired and serve hot.
