- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup cinnamon sugar (for coating)
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a gentle boil.
- Remove from heat and stir in flour, baking powder, and vanilla, mixing until a smooth dough forms.
- Transfer dough to a piping bag with a star nozzle.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Pipe small strips of dough into the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not touching.
- Spray churros lightly with cooking spray.
- Cook for 8-10 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Roll warm churro bites in cinnamon sugar immediately after frying.
- Serve warm, ideally with hot chocolate or chocolate sauce.
