Description
Crispy Bang Bang Salmon Bites are easy, crowd-pleasing morsels of salmon coated in a light, crispy shell and tossed in a creamy, spicy-sweet Bang Bang sauce. They are perfect as an appetizer or a main dish and can be prepared in under 20 minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound skinless salmon fillet, cut into bite-sized cubes
- ½ cup cornstarch
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil for frying
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
- 1 teaspoon sriracha
- 1 teaspoon honey (optional)
- Chopped green onions or sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix cornstarch with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss the salmon cubes in the mixture until evenly coated.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the salmon pieces in batches and cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
- Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and honey until smooth.
- Toss the hot, crispy salmon bites in the Bang Bang sauce until well coated, or serve the sauce on the side for dipping.
- Garnish with green onions or sesame seeds if desired and serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra crunch, double-dip the salmon by coating it first in flour, then beaten egg, followed by the cornstarch mixture.
- Adjust the spice level by increasing or reducing the sriracha in the sauce.
- Leftovers can be reheated in an air fryer or oven to maintain crispness.
- Serve over rice or lettuce for a light and flavorful meal.
