Description

Crispy Bang Bang Salmon Bites are easy, crowd-pleasing morsels of salmon coated in a light, crispy shell and tossed in a creamy, spicy-sweet Bang Bang sauce. They are perfect as an appetizer or a main dish and can be prepared in under 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound skinless salmon fillet, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil for frying
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha
  • 1 teaspoon honey (optional)
  • Chopped green onions or sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix cornstarch with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss the salmon cubes in the mixture until evenly coated.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the salmon pieces in batches and cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
  3. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and honey until smooth.
  5. Toss the hot, crispy salmon bites in the Bang Bang sauce until well coated, or serve the sauce on the side for dipping.
  6. Garnish with green onions or sesame seeds if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, double-dip the salmon by coating it first in flour, then beaten egg, followed by the cornstarch mixture.
  • Adjust the spice level by increasing or reducing the sriracha in the sauce.
  • Leftovers can be reheated in an air fryer or oven to maintain crispness.
  • Serve over rice or lettuce for a light and flavorful meal.
