  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon (5g) baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5g) salt
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 ounces (115g) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups (240g) powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk buttermilk, oil, eggs, red food coloring, and vanilla.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring until smooth.
  5. Pour batter into pan and bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool completely, then cut into rolls.
  7. For frosting, beat butter and cream cheese until creamy.
  8. Gradually add powdered sugar, beating until smooth.
