Banana bread is a classic dessert, often eaten even for breakfast. It is also a very versatile
recipe as you can add coconut or chocolate chips and you have a whole new recipe to make
and enjoy.
Ingredients
- 1 cup mashed bananas
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/3 cup soy milk
- 1 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 6 tablespoons hot water
- 1 pinch of salt
Instructions
- Line a loaf pan with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a bowl, mix together the bananas, sugar, vanilla, oil and soy milk.
- In another bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, baking soda and powder, as well as a pinch of salt.
- Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
- Divide the batter into two equal parts. In one part, mix 3 tablespoons of water and, in the other, besides the 3 tablespoons of water, add the cocoa powder as well.
- Pour the batters into your prepared pan, one at a time, then marble the mixture with a skewer.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350F for 30-40 minutes.
- Serve cold with a sprinkle of powdered sugar.
